b3nnys Max/Msp bits

This is the beater, an early drum machine project.
Plays drums randomly, but not very sophisticated.
And not very good drumsounds either.

This here is "xema" which is another attempt at making random
melodies that does not seem like a random pick of notes.
Personally i think im getting closer.

This is the "ElectroDrummer" which is a drum-loop-machine.
It uses 3 drum sounds: "kick", "snare" and "zap", of which the kick
and snare can change character with the XY-pads in the picture.
It plays randomly (if checked) selected preset patterns, and mutate
the patterns for extra variability. The latest version even has a
delay effect with a feedback-self-sustain avoidance feature.
Actually it also has a function that turn up the feedback until
it starts self sustain, in order to keep it on the edge of clip all the time.
Very fun to play with.

This thing called Ambidroney, i made for making smooth living feedback-like textures. A set of 8 frequencies is applied to 8 oscillators, each modulating the previous. The volume envelope is decided randomly, according to a preset random range and distribution. The envelopes are triggered by each other, so that when one ends, another begins. The trigger connections can be set in a trigger matrix. The frequencies can be set as a chromatic scale, or as free frequencies which have a mutator function which provides an even more organic feeling. Nice for ambient sound scapes. Heres what it sounds like.

This thing called Another Text Sequencer, is for turning characters into music. Or rather sound. It uses the characters as a kind of musical notation. The timebase and soundscape depends of whats written and on the lenght of whats written. There are two different versions below.
Reason its called another .. is becuase i already did a couple.
I can sound like this. Or like this. Or like this.

This is "leger med ffb" or "playing with ffb (fast filter bank)", which
actually is very little playing with ffb, and much more playing with
how to make random melodies that doesnt seem random...hmm.

This is the "sSynthesizer", a combined polyphonic midi-capable
synthesizer, and a 3 part short sample-looper. This works great
for making monotonous loops and messing about when bored.
The synth has FM, and PulseWidth control.

Ssynthesizer

This patch is the
sSynthesizer: Advanced Melody Creator.
Its a patch based on the sSynthesizer, which is an earlier patch of mine.
It plays random (or rather controlled random) notes in a scale by choice.
It works great and it actually does make melodies that does not
seem totally random. On the latest version i have even added
a feedbacking delay, that has audio bits punched in from time
to time (this is random!!), which provides a bit of synthetic sound
to the almost piano-like sound of the first version. Try the soundsamples below.

==================================================

This is the noise loop Digital Audio Workstation.
I started it as a way to split up waves and turn them into noisy loops and beats, but it got pretty complex along the way. At least to me. It turned into being a bunch of machines that allows for routing similar to the Pluggobus if youre familiar with this(, and if youre not its basically just like real world cables, except that more than one plug can connect to the same input or output). Theres a Distortion, a Delay, an EQ and a convolution effect. Theres as well a kind of generative drum machine, a wave splitter which was the original nlDAW, a noise texture generator and a synth that just makes soft tones played by MIDI. The Delay can also have tuned intervals from MIDI. It can be used for instance by loading a wave with a decent amount of change in a reasonable short amount of time. Different jump points are set in the wave file, and a sequence of these jumppoints are triggered to play the wave, with a predefined volume envelope. The output can then for instance be used to convolute the output of the noise texture generator (nScaper). which creates jumpy glitchy wave sound with a tunable spectrum via the nScaper. Ive made this little demo piece using it. And this a bit older one.

A new maxhine called Melods is a collection of a simple drum machine (with a rather neat kick synthesis imho), and a couple of comb-based polysynths. It can take notes from MIDI or from a rudimentary built-in sequencer. The built-in sequencer relies heavily on a controlled random for triggering notes. Harmonic frequencies can be specified, and it is dependent on a shared timefactor for all envelopes. The comb-polysynths are fed by a wavetable oscillator. The wavetable is generated. Theres a buffer-based stutter control, with exponential growth or decline. It might sound like this, this, this, this, this, this or this. These are different development stages of the patch.

This maxhine is called Bricking, and is based on the 2d.wave~ object in MSP and filter envelopes. Not much more to say here. It might sound like this, this or this (augmented with ableton live). It loads a 20 second waveform and then its cut into 4 pieces which are independantly modulated.
